For cars participating in the crown jewel of the Monterey Motoring Week, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance preparations on the day of the event begin hours before dawn. As the sun begins to rise, the first car leads a slow-moving line of automotive wonders to their assigned positions on the 18th fairway of the Golf Links at Pebble Beach — a parade of collector car excellence that has come to be known as the Dawn Patrol. Excitement for the upcoming scrutiny is palpable as entrants position their prized vehicles on the field for final preparation and judging, with the hope of receiving an award later in the afternoon. With the cancellation of the Pebble Beach Concours this year, we’ve put together a look at last year’s special collection of vehicles as they took to the green for the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
