2017 Pebble Beach Concours: Motoring Classic
For many car collectors, the opportunity to show a car on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links during the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is an automotive dream. After years of preparation, some owners choose to drive their beautiful cars the final miles to Pebble Beach in the annual Pebble Beach Motoring Classic. Beginning near Seattle, Washington, this ultimate vintage-car road trip covers 1,500 miles through the mountains and along the Pacific coast to arrive at Pebble Beach in time for the Concours d’Elegance. Many participants return each year, and for good reason. As Motoring Classic organizer Al McEwan quips, “it’s a bit of driving in between parties.” Here’s a look at this year’s departure on August 8th as the group gathered together before heading south, as well as their arrival at The Lodge at Pebble Beach on the 16th.
