Refreshed Rogue
Today at the 2016 Miami International Auto Show Nissan unveiled a new version of its popular Rogue midsize crossover, featuring refreshed exterior styling, interior refinements, new technology and the addition of the first-ever Rogue gasoline-electric hybrid, which is expected to achieve 35 mpg on the highway. Nissan’s second-best-selling model behind the Altima midsize sedan, Rogue has seen steady sales growth since its last update for 2014, and the automaker expects the refreshed model to eventually become its top seller.

New Style
The 2017 Rogue’s updated exterior starts with a stronger version of Nissan’s signature “V-Motion” grille, accentuated by a new bumper design, a revised front fascia with integrated fog lights, and revised headlights with LED daytime running lights. A new bumper design brings up the rear, flanked by new rear combination lights with LED boomerang taillights. The Rogue’s profile adds new chrome-trim door moldings, and 19-inch alloy wheels are optional for the SL trim level.

First-Ever Rogue Hybrid
Nissan expands the lineup with the Rogue Hybrid, powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and the Xtronic continuously-variable transmission. The 2.0-liter gasoline engine produces 141 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque, the electric motor is rated at 40 horsepower, and the combination creates a net system output estimated at 176 horsepower. The Rogue Hybrid includes an Idle Start/Stop system and an Intelligent Regenerative Braking system. The Rogue Hybrid is offered in SV and SL trim levels, available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (late availability). Fuel economy is expected to be 33 mpg city / 35 mpg highway / 34 mpg combined in front-drive format, and 31 mpg city / 34 mpg highway / 33 mpg combined for the all-wheel drive powertrain.

Rogue Trim Levels
The standard Rogue continues to be offered in S, SV and SL trim levels with either front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. All trim levels are powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, combined with an advanced Xtronic transmission with standard Sport and Eco modes. Projected fuel economy is expected to be 26 mpg city / 33 mpg highway / 29 mpg combined in front-drive format, and 25 mpg city / 32 mpg highway / 28 mpg combined for all-wheel drive variants.

Interior Upgrades
Car shoppers hopping inside the 2017 Rogue will notice a new D-shaped steering wheel, a new center console design, revised instrument panel trim, new door trim, new seat fabric, a leather boot for the sport-mode shifter, an available heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory and remote engine start. A Platinum Reserve Interior Package is offered for the SL trim, which includes premium tan leather seats with quilted leather inserts.

Optional Third-Row Seating
Rogue’s standard seating is a 2-row / 5-passenger configuration with a flat-folding 40/20/40 second-row bench. An optional 3-row / 7-passenger configuration (not available on the Rogue Hybrid) adds a third-row stadium-style flat-folding 50/50 split-bench seat. With Nissan’s EZ Flex Seating System every seat (except the driver’s) easily folds flat, including the front passenger seat which folds rearward to accommodate longer items. The front seats are a Zero Gravity design, and the SV and SL trims have available Quick Comfort heated front seats that immediately begin warming.

Advanced Technology
New for 2017 are two Nissan Safety Shield technologies: Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, which join the previously-available radar-based Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Connectivity and infotainment features range from NissanConnect with Navigation, Mobile Apps and Services to a Bose audio system with nine speakers and Siri Eyes Free. Driving aids include High Beam Assist headlights, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Prevention and Lane Departure Warning, and Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection.
