2019 Sales Dip
The popularity of sport-utility vehicles and crossovers continues in the U.S., but even these hot sellers are not immune to an initial downturn in 2019 auto sales. While total vehicle sales for the first quarter of 2019 were down about 3 percent compared to 2018, the top-selling SUVs experienced a bigger dip, with the top 25 models down 8.8 percent and the top 10 down 4.1 percent. Overall SUV sales for the quarter were up slightly but have cooled considerably from 2018, which had a sales increase of nearly 10 percent for the SUV category. Here are the top-selling SUVs in America based on total sales for the first quarter of 2019, according to numbers compiled from individual auto manufacturers’ sales reports.
