Lamborghini Motor Yacht Makes Big Splash

Automobili Lamborghini built its reputation creating extreme, exotic sports cars and supercars with standout styling and stunning performance for road or track. Now these attributes transfer to a Lamborghini-badged vehicle that excels in a different medium — on water. Today Lamborghini introduces the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, a new limited-edition motor yacht resulting from a collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group.

Partnership With The Italian Sea Group
“We announced this partnership in May, and today we present Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, a motor yacht which will become as futuristic an icon as the car she is inspired by,” said Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group. “Selected owners around the world will own not only the fastest Tecnomar motor yacht in the fleet, but a Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 masterpiece. I’m proud that we have chosen to create this innovative and challenging project with Automobili Lamborghini, which links technology, supreme design, quality and performance,” noted Costantino.

Inspiration for Lamborghini’s unique motor yacht comes from the automaker’s Sian FKP 37 — the first electrified Lamborghini and the most powerful car ever produced by company. The word Sian means flash or lightning in Bolognese dialect — certainly an appropriate name for a high-performance electric vehicle — and the 63 of the boat’s moniker represents the year of Lamborghini’s founding. With its hybrid V12 powertrain, Sian will blast to 62 mph in less than 2.8 seconds, making it the quickest Lambo ever. Top speed is expected to be in excess of 217 mph. Extreme stats, even for a Lamborghini — and great inspiration for a luxury yacht.

While the Sian may be the most powerful Lamborghini on the road, it’s mere 819 horsepower pales next to this Lamborghini-inspired motor yacht. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 boasts two MAN V12 engines, with each producing 2000 horsepower — yes, we said each. With this much power on tap, this seaworthy Lamborghini will reach 60 knots, making it the fastest offering in the Tecnomar fleet as well.

Lamborghini uses a lot of carbon fiber in its supercars, and this Tecnomar motor yacht does the same. Using this lightweight but strong material places the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 in the ultra-lightweight boat classification — and at 63 feet long, this Lambo boat weighs in at a mere 24 tons.

Obvious styling cues carry through from Lamborghini cars to this special motor yacht, ranging from the Y-shaped bow lights and hexagon shapes to the Lamborghini-like “taillights” at the stern. A Lamborghini badge gets its proper placement on top of the bow. An aerodynamic hardtop provides sun and wind protection and draws inspiration from Lamborghini roadsters.

The Lamborghini inspiration continues on the yacht’s interior design, most notably with an instrument panel mimicking ones found in the automaker’s sports cars while at the same time integrating all Tecnomar nautical navigation and control systems. Details are finished in carbon fiber using Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin for the sports seats as well as the sports car-style steering wheel. The same distinctive start/stop buttons found in Lamborghini sports cars are used on the motor yacht — one for each engine.

“This yacht represents the significance of creating a valuable partnership, at its best: our co-operation allows the essence of both organizations’ style and expertise to be transferred to different worlds, sharing in their diversity to interpret and add value to the final product in a new environment,” said Stefano Domenicali, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision. I’m delighted to celebrate this successful collaboration,” Domenicali enthused.

The first Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 will be available at the beginning of 2021 at a base price of €3 million. Similar to the limited-edition Sian sports car, only 63 of these unique motor yachts will be built.
