In New York, Lamborghini takes the wraps off its latest V10-powered supercar, the Huracan Tecnica. Designed for peak performance on road and track, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica gets a fresh look, more power and improved driving dynamics sure to delight any driving enthusiast.

Fun to Drive
“The Huracan Tecnica condenses Lamborghini’s design and engineering expertise to create the perfect fun-to-drive Huracan, as compelling when driving to the race circuit as it is on the track itself,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “The Tecnica ensures that the pilot enjoys the strongest connection to the car and asphalt, with the car’s potential always at his fingertips for ease of use in every driving mode and environment,” Winkelmann noted.

Updated Design
This newest Huracan gets a revised look that sets it apart from the rest of the lineup. Slightly longer than the Huracan EVO, the Tecnica sports a new front bumper, updated front splitter and lower open air slats that direct air through the wheels for better aero and cooling. All this gives the Tecnica a more aggressive stance, further accentuated by a sculpted carbon fiber hood.

Rear View
The Huracan Tecnica also has a new glass rear window for better visibility, as well as a redesigned engine cover that provides a clear view to this Lamborghini’s potent V10 engine. A new rear bumper incorporates optimized air inlets as well as new hexagonal exhaust outlets.

Better Aero
New deflectors improve aerodynamic efficiency in the Tecnica’s underbody, while a fixed rear wing spoiler adds 35 percent more downforce when compared with the EVO. At the same time, this new wing design contributes to an overall 20 percent reduction in drag.

More Power
The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica draws power from the same engine used in the track-ready Huracan STO: a 5.2-liter normally aspirated V10 generating 631 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque. Power travels to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. As expected, the performance figures for this Huracan variant are outstanding: 0-100 km/h (62 mph) takes a mere 3.2 seconds, and in 9.1 seconds the Huracan is at 200 km/h (124 mph). With enough track ahead of it, the Huracan Tecnica will exceed 200 mph.

Improved Handling
Designed as a driver’s car, the Huracan Tecnica has rear-wheel drive as well as rear-wheel steering, torque vectoring, a modified Performance Traction Control System and a specific suspension setup. The design allows better brake cooling for consistent braking response when pushing the Huracan. The additional downforce from the new rear wing translates to more stability during braking and turning.

Stopping Power
To complement this Huracan’s higher performance, the Tecnica needs advanced stopping power. Brakes are carbon ceramic with fixed monoblock aluminum calipers — 6 piston up front, 4 piston at the rear. Brake discs are ventilated and cross drilled, measuring a massive 15 inches up front and 14 inches at the rear. The Huracan Tecnica brake system can bring the vehicle to a stop from 100 km/h (62 mph) in 103 feet.

Wheels and Tires
The Huracan Tecnica rides on Bridgestone Potenza Sport 245/30 R20 up front, 305/30 R20 in back. Tires are fitted to new Damiso 20-inch diamond cut wheels inspired by the Lamborghini Vision GT.

Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata
To ensure that any driver can take full advantage of the Huracan Tecnica’s outrageous performance, the vehicle can be set up in multiple ways via the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata. This system allows the driver to choose from three modes — STRADA, SPORT or CORSA — and each sets up the car with varying levels of performance and civility. STRADA is best for everyday driving, while SPORT increases the threshold of traction control, improves throttle response, quickens gear changes and gets enhanced oversteer courtesy of the rear-wheel steering. CORSA optimizes vehicle controls even further for extreme performance on a racetrack.

Driver’s Cockpit
Inside, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is as luxurious as it is performance oriented, and can be completely customized via Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program. Height-adjustable sport seats are standard, and buyers may choose a lightweight door design, or even a harness seat belt for those who plan to spend more time at the track. As seen on this example, the interior can be tastefully trimmed in Alcantara, leather and carbon fiber with stitching designs and colors exclusive to the Tecnica.

High Tech
A redesigned interface exclusive to the Huracan Tecnica features a center console screen that displays elements from the LDVI system as well as onboard telemetry storing a history of destinations and track times. Also included are connectivity functions that include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa integration.

Driver Display
A revised digital instrument panel in front of the driver is also a bit of new kit for the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. Colors have been reduced with a simpler design for better readability. The performance-oriented flat-bottom steering wheel features large paddle shifters and quick access to the LDVI selector.

Last Huracan?
“The Tecnica completes the Huracan line-up, sitting perfectly between the RWD and the track-focused STO, flawlessly presenting technology, performance and the Huracan’s V10 aspirated engine in a dramatically evolved design,” said Winkelmann. Despite this proclamation, we’ll have to simply wait and see if this really is the last of the V10-powered Huracans.
