The second AMG performance model of the E-Class, the AMG E43 is powered by a twin-turbocharged AMG 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 396 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque from 2500 to 5000 rpm. Power is delivered through an AMG-enhanced 9-speed automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with a torque split of 31 percent front / 69 percent rear. AMG Sport Suspension is standard, and the AMG E43 is rated at 25 mpg highway. At the top of the line is the AMG E63, the most powerful E-Class ever offered at 603 horsepower, but it doesn’t make the list since it’s rated at 22 mpg highway.
