The M5 Sedan continues to be powered by a 4.4-liter TwinPower turbocharged V8 engine producing 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque from 1800 rpm. According to BMW, the M5 will jump to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, eventually reaching as high as 190 mph. The M5 Competition gets a bump to 617 horsepower, making it a tenth of a second faster to 60 mph. Power gets delivered through an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission to the rear-biased M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. At the rear, the Active M Differential splits torque between left and right wheels.
