25. Mazda CX-5
2019 Sales: 37,496
Vs. 2018: -12.4 %
Although Mazda’s compact crossover had strong sales in 2018, the CX-5 started 2019 a bit slower with sales down in March by almost 17 percent. Adopting the styling of the larger CX-9 when it was redesigned a few years ago, the CX-5 was refined in nearly every way, including a revised chassis, an updated SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine, a new interior and many available features. The CX-5 was the first Mazda to feature G-Vectoring Control, which enhances vehicle responsiveness and stability while reducing sideways sliding of occupants. For 2019 Mazda turned up the heat by adding the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels, both powered by the turbocharged SKYACTIV-G 2.5T engine producing 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque; i-ACTIV all-wheel drive is standard.
