DBS 770 Ultimate
Aston Martin introduced the current DBS in 2018, and this V12-powered thing of beauty has reigned atop the British marque’s lineup ever since. And even though all good things must come to an end, the current DBS is approaching its final glory in style. Certainly not a machine to go out with a whimper, the Aston Martin DBS flagship sports car will take its victory lap as a limited-run DBS 770 Ultimate.

Pinnacle of the Lineup
“DBS has always sat at the pinnacle of the Aston Martin production model lineup,” said Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman. “And now we’re infusing DBS 770 Ultimate with even more … more power, more performance purity and all with more sophistication, more taste and in the most considered manner,” Reichman exclaimed.

The Ultimate
The DBS 770 Ultimate is powered by Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 770 PS (759 horsepower) and 664 lb-ft of torque, making this the most powerful production Aston Martin ever. Power gets sent to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with a mechanical limited-slip differential. Performance is further enhanced with unique transmission calibration for the DBS 770, which improves shift speed and thereby the driving experience.

Performance
As the most powerful DBS ever, Ultimate is also one of the quickest. This powerful coupe will reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and 100 mph in 6.4 seconds (the Volante is just a few ticks slower). The top speed for both coupe and Volante is listed at 211 mph.

Brakes and Tires
With great power comes great responsibility — to stop on a dime. The DBS 770 has that handled via carbon ceramic brakes with 6-piston calipers up front, 4-piston at the rear. This special edition rides on bespoke Pirelli P-Zero tires designed specifically for the DBS, fitted to 21-inch multispoke wheels available in three finishes.

Improved Handling
The steering response of the DBS 770 Ultimate is improved thanks to a new solid-mounted steering column. Also unique to the Ultimate is an enhanced front crossmember and a thicker rear undertray that improves lateral stiffness by 25 percent. The Adaptive Damping System has been specifically calibrated to improve driving control without diminishing ride quality.

Functional Styling
The Ason Martin DBS 770 Ultimate gets a new front splitter, new grille and two new outboard vents. Not only do the gills give this special DBS a more aggressive look, they also bring additional cooling to the big V12 powerplant. A new rear diffuser gives the Ultimate a unique aft view and adds to the car’s aerodynamic balance front to rear.

Special Interior
Inside, the DBS 770 comes with Sports Plus Seats trimmed in semi-aniline leather and Alcantara with a fluted quilt design. The shift paddles are carbon fiber, and a laser-etched DBS 770 Ultimate logo adorns the center armrest. Sill plaques showcase the Aston Martin wings, DBS 770 Ultimate logo and limited edition numbering, signifying the special nature of this model. Like other Astons, the DBS 770 Ultimate can be personalized with a wide array of materials and options per customer request.

Best to Drive
“When an iconic model generation reaches the end of production, it is important to mark the occasion with something special,” said Aston Martin Chief Technology Officer Roberto Fedeli. “In the case of the DBS 770 Ultimate, we have spared nothing in ensuring the final version of our current series production flagship is the best-ever in every respect. Not only is it the fastest and most powerful DBS in our history, thanks to a comprehensive suite of improvements to the transmission, steering, suspension, and underbody structure; it is also the best to drive,” observed Fedeli.

All Gone but Not Forgotten
Aston Martin will only build 499 copies of the DBS 770 Ultimate: 300 Coupes and 199 Volante convertibles for the global market. This special edition is priced at £314,000 ($385,703) for the Coupe or £337,000 ($413,955) for the Volante, but the price is of little consequence to other than a select few — all 499 copies have already been sold, with deliveries expected to start in the third quarter of 2023.
