Last year Aston Martin did what was once unthinkable: the brand added an SUV to its lineup of luxurious vehicles: the DBX. Simply put, the all-new DBX proved to be everything an Aston Martin SUV should be, with the highest levels of luxury and performance expected of this storied marque. Never a brand to rest on its laurels, Aston Martin now takes DBX performance to an even higher plane via the all-new Aston Martin DBX707. The boutique British marque calls the DBX the “world’s most powerful luxury SUV,” and since the new variant possesses almost 700 horsepower, that title seems fitting.

Pushing Boundaries
“Right from its first introduction the DBX has represented Aston Martin’s dynamic and design values in a way that proves not all SUVs have to conform to the same compromises,” said Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Tobias Moers. “With the DBX707 we have pushed the boundaries in every area to create a car which sets new standards of performance and desirability. Under the Hood
To advance the performance of Aston Martin’s SUV, engineers took the DBX’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and added ball bearing turbochargers and bespoke engine calibration to increase output to 697 horsepower (707 PS, thus the name) and 663 lb-ft of torque, which pencils out to a boost of 155 horsepower over the standard model.

New Transmission
Also new for the Aston Martin DBX707: a 9-speed wet clutch automatic transmission designed to handle the large torque increase. Shifts are now quicker with better response, which not only improves overall performance, it makes the DBX quicker off the line. According to Aston Martin, the DBX707 can reach 60 mph in a mere 3.1 seconds.

Unlocking Performance Potential
“With this exceptional new model we have truly unlocked the performance potential within the DBX to create a world beating high-performance SUV,” claimed Aston Martin Head of Powertrain Ralph Illenberger. “The huge gains we have found in both power and torque demonstrates not only the inherent prowess of the 4.0-liter biturbo V8, but Aston Martin’s appetite and ability for finding uncompromising engineering solutions,” noted Illenberger.

Stopping Power
The additional performance of the new Aston Martin DBX707 is about more than a higher-power V8 engine. With more power comes equal demands for improved braking, so Aston Martin gives the DBX707 standard carbon ceramic brakes. The DBX707’s massive brakes (16.5-inch rotors up front, 15.4 inches at the rear) feature 6-piston calipers with high-performance brake pads to ensure smooth, confident stopping power.

Wheels and Tires
The new Aston Martin DBX707 rides on standard 22-inch wheels as well as a 23-inch option, with a choice of textured or satin black finish as well as diamond-turned highlights. Wheels are fitted with high-performance Pirelli P-Zero tires.

Suspension
An air suspension system adds a bit of sporty flair to the DBX707 SUV. The air suspension system has new damper valving as well as recalibrated dynamic spring volume switching, which should improve steering response and overall handling beyond the already impressive DBX.

All-Wheel Drive
In keeping with the current DBX, the Aston Martin DBX707 has a torque distribution system that automatically adjusts front to rear as needed, with the ability to send all torque to the rear axle on demand. A new version of the electronic limited-slip differential has been calibrated to provide better cornering performance with the characteristics of a true sports car.

Drive Modes
Adding to the sporting character of the new DBX707, Aston Martin enhanced the SUV’s drive modes with a Race Start mode designed to maximize acceleration off the line. The drive mode settings are also easier to access thanks to a revised lower console that puts the mode selection front and center, rather than requiring the driver to dig through sub-menus. Other settings at the ready include suspension mode, ESP, manual shift mode and active exhaust, which lets passersby know this DBX is even more special than the inaugural variant.

Standout Styling
To showcase the new DBX707, Aston designers gave this SUV a new front end with a larger front grille, updated daytime running lights, a new front splitter, larger air intakes and brake cooling ducts. The satin chrome grille has six horizontal bars that provide increased cooling to the higher-performance V8, further differentiating the 707 from the standard DBX.

Rear View
Whether on approach or racing to the horizon, the new Aston Martin DBX707 will be easy to spot in the wild. At the rear of the SUV, a new lip spoiler gets added to the roof wing for improved high-speed stability. The DX707 also sports a new larger rear diffuser, as well as integrated quad exhaust outlets finished in satin black. Completing the look is a new rear bumper with integrated quarter panel vents.

Interior Updates
Continuing the theme of increased performance, inside the DBX707 are standard Sport Plus seats with 16-way power adjustments. (Even more luxurious Comfort seats are available at no additional cost.) Multiple interior treatments are also available, including Inspire Sport, which includes semi-aniline leather with embroidered Aston Martin logos on the head restraints, as well as a contrasting strip down the center of each seat. Dark chrome finishes can be found throughout the SUV to match the exterior styling; however, bright chrome and carbon fiber are also available.
