Stingray Power
While there will likely be other power options in its future, the C8 Corvette Stingray launched with an all-new LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque in standard configuration, and 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with the optional Z51 Performance Package. No manual transmission is offered — instead, the engine gets paired with Chevrolet’s first 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. This combination allows the Stingray to jet to 60 mph in 3 seconds — the fastest time ever for an entry-level Corvette — and complete a quarter-mile run in 11.2 seconds at 123 mph. With a strong, stiff yet lightweight structure as well as ride and handling upgrades, the C8 is a big step forward for Chevrolet’s flagship sports car. Pricing starts at $60,995 for the Corvette Stingray Coupe, including freight.
