New Eighth Generation
Following years of speculation about a mid-engine Corvette, Chevrolet debuted the eighth generation Corvette in 2019, with the engine positioned behind the seats. “Corvette has always represented the pinnacle of innovation and boundary-pushing at GM. The traditional front-engine vehicle reached its limits of performance, necessitating the new layout,” said GM President Mark Reuss. Still recognizable as a Corvette but with new styling, the all-new Stingray (its comeback moniker) is designed with better weight distribution, vastly improved performance and a high-tech cockpit.
