2019 Indy 500 Pace Car
Pace car honors for the 2019 Indianapolis 500 once again went to Corvette, with the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport leading the starting field to the green flag with retired NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. behind the wheel. The 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car is finished in Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat with Racing Blade Silver dual stripes and an Indy 500 decal package. The car is powered by a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine producing 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
