The Chevrolet Astro I Experimental is made of fiberglass with semi-monocoque construction and box-section sides. Astro I features include a periscope-like rearview mirror, bucket seats that raise and lower with the rear portion of the bodywork to allow ingress and egress of occupants, as well as a flat-black hood to reduce glare, eyestrain and thus driver fatigue.

  1. Great rendition — especially of the Cadillacs. When will we ever see another Cadillac to rival those shown here? We need a new icon without worrying about fuel efficiency and “organic” greenness.

  2. A bright red Cadillac convertible was my ideal car when I was a kid and it still is. They don’t make such gorgeous cars any longer.
