The 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is in the books, marking the 74th time this legendary automotive event has been held. There were 229 cars on the field worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and from these elegant rolling works of art, the judges chose the 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C Nieuport-Astra Torpedo as the 2025 Best of Show winner.

“This Hispano-Suiza ticks every possible box,” said Concours Chairman Sandra Button. “The underpinnings are technically advanced. The body is meticulously hand-crafted, light, and lovely. It was, notably, commissioned by aperitif scion André Dubonnet, and he raced it in both the Targa Florio and the Coppa Florio.”

The winning car was restored by RM Auto Restorations, a task that required more than 12,000 hours of precise craftsmanship. Nicknamed the “Tulipwood Torpedo”, the Hispano Suiza’s standout feature is its body made from mahogany strips that required more than 10,000 rivets to be refinished by hand. “This car is simply a masterpiece. Every angle, every detail—it’s as wild as it gets for 1924 and was so far ahead of its time,” said Gord Duff, President, RM Sotheby’s. “To me, this is the Mona Lisa of cars.
