What is it?
In the world of luxury automobiles, Genesis is one of the newest brands on the market. Launched less than ten years ago, the luxury arm of the Hyundai Motor Group introduced its first SUV in 2020 – the GV80. The flagship SUV of the brand, the GV80 gets fresh styling and updated features for the 2025 model year and, more importantly, adds a new body style to the lineup with the all-new GV80 Coupe.

Coupe and SUV
“The addition of the sporty Coupe to the GV80 family brings a new expression of athleticism and invigorating performance to the Genesis lineup,” said José Muñoz, president and CEO of Genesis Motor North America and president and global chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor Company. “Both the new SUV and Coupe models bring refined performance and bold design to the portfolio, each with their own distinct character for customers to choose.”

Updated Styling
Both variants of the new GV80 get fresh styling up front that features the familiar Genesis Crest grille; however, the grille is revised with double layers and smoother corner lines. The signature two-line headlights utilizing a Micro Lens Array (MLA) continue, which helps the GV80 stand out in daylight and at night. Larger air intakes and a refreshed front bumper accentuate the SUV’s wide stance, and finishing the look are two new wheel designs.

New Coupe
The all-new GV80 Coupe was introduced at this year’s L.A. Auto Show and looks very much like the GV80 Coupe Concept first seen at the New York Auto Show earlier this year. While the front-end styling is shared with the GV80 SUV, the sleek profile slopes down towards the rear spoiler, clearly distinguishing it from its SUV sibling. The available 20-inch and 22-inch wheels complete the sporty look.

Under the Hood
The 2025 GV80 SUV is available with a choice of two engines that carry over from the previous year – a 2.5-liter turbocharged 300-horsepower 4-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 which bumps up to 375 horsepower. The GV80 Coupe comes standard with the 375-hp motor but is also offered with a version that adds a 48V electric supercharger that delivers 409 horses.

Inner Space
The already luxurious cabin of the GV80 gets a significant update with the introduction of a 27-inch wide OLED display that seamlessly blends the driver display with the infotainment display, giving the cabin a high-tech vibe. Climate controls are kept separate for easy access with a touch-based interface.

Complete Elegance
Both the GV80 and GV80 Coupe feature elegant cabins replete with high-end materials throughout. The seats are not only comfortable, but the diamond-shaped pleated leather with contrasting piping is beautiful. The available two-tone steering wheel is a nice touch.
