According to the EPA, the Ford Ranger 2WD with the base 2.3-liter engine is rated at 21 mpg city / 25 mpg hwy / 22 mpg combined. Fuel economy drops by just one mpg with the four-wheel driver version. The new 2.7-liter engine gets 19 / 23 / 20, respectively, and the more powerful Raptor comes in at 16 / 18 / 17 mpg.
