What Is It?
Although most people don’t know it, Buick is one of the longest-running brands sold in America, and an originator of premium automobiles in this country. And in an attempt to keep up with the current U.S. buying public, Buick now carries a lineup exclusively consisting of SUVs that range from the Encore GX to the seven-passenger Enclave. For 2024 this time-honored brand adds to its lineup with a new entry point into premium GM ownership via the all-new 2024 Buick Envista.

Shaking Up the Market
“Buick defined the small SUV segment in 2012, and we’ve continued to make our offerings even more competitive since,” noted Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick-GMC. “The all-new Envista is going to shake up that segment once again. When you consider all the Envista has to offer, from its stunning design to abundant technology and safety features, it’s going to be hard to find a better package in that area of the market,” Aldred observed.

New Look
Not only is the Envista a new model for Buick, it also introduces a fresh design language for the brand. This look is heavily influenced by the beautiful Buick Wildcat EV Concept shown last year, highlighted by a forward-leaning grille and slim checkmark-style running lights that sweep back from the nose. The new Buick logo is front and center, with a sculpted hood completing the look.

Sleek Silhouette
The 2024 Buick Envista features a sleek roofline that flows smoothly from the base of the windshield over the driver and down to an integrated rear lip spoiler. Contoured lines along the sides of this premium small SUV have the appearance of motion, and available 18- and 19-inch wheels add to the elegant look.

“The Envista represents a pure expression of Buick design,” said the Executive Director of Global Buick-GMC Design Sharon Gauci. “This is not your average small SUV. With its unique proportions, modern stance and sleek form, the Envista takes Buick’s sculptural beauty to the next level,” Gauci observed.

Inner Space
Inside, the Envista dash has a large screen that incorporates a driver display and an 11-inch infotainment display for a high-tech look. Buick says this system has been optimized for better interaction and a more intuitive voice interface. The cabin also features Buick’s QuietTuning system, designed to keep road and wind noise to a minimum.

Utility
Even though Buicks bills the Envista as a premium vehicle, the small crossover still delivers a decent level of utility. Behind the rear seats, owners will find 20.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and that area more than doubles when the split-folding rear seats are folded down. An available power tailgate adds a level of convenience to cargo loading.

Under the Hood
Powering the 2024Buick Envista is a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine producing 136 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Power gets sent to the road via a 6-speed automatic transmission. Although the horsepower rating is relatively low, the engine’s low-end torque should provide spritely performance as well as commendable fuel efficiency. Buick expects the Envista should achieve 30 mpg combined.

Standard Safety Features
Every Buick Envista will come with Buick’s Driver Confidence Package, which includes advanced driver-assist features such as automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and lane change alert are also available.

Available Soon
Buick will offer the new Envista in three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring and the luxurious Avenir. Prices start at $23,495 for the Preferred, $25,195 for the ST and $29,695 for the top-of-the-line Envista Avenir. The 2024 Buick Envista goes into production this spring, with deliveries expected to begin by summertime.
