2021 Nissan Kicks
A few years ago, Nissan expanded its already extensive crossover lineup with the all-new compact Kicks. Slotted below the popular Rogue, the Kicks provides an affordable 5-occupant offering in a stylish, useful package. For 2021 Nissan gives the compact Kicks a makeover with updated styling, more standard features and the latest advanced safety technology.

New Look
The 2021 Nissan Kicks will roll into dealerships with a much bolder look, highlighted by a new front bumper, slim headlights and a much larger take on Nissan’s signature Double V-Motion grille. This more aggressive look gets further enhancement for the top-level SR trim, which has LED headlights and LED fog lights.

Rear View
At the rear, the 2021 Nissan Kicks sports a new bumper design as well as updated LED taillights connected by an LED light bar that gives the Kicks a wider look. The SR trim also receives a roof-mounted rear spoiler.

Interior
Already well equipped coming into 2021, the Kicks still manages a few upgrades and tweaks to the interior for the new model year. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, and the Kicks SV and SR trims feature a new 8.0-inch touchscreen display. All Kicks have three standard USB ports (one in front, two in the rear seat) with new Type C ports available on higher trim levels.

Seats
For 2021 Nissan upgrades the seat and door trim materials on the Kicks SV and SR to provide a more premium look. Also added to these higher-level trims: a full center console with armrest and storage cubby.

Useful Space
Based on our last test drive of the current Kicks, the rear seat is surprisingly usable by at least two adults. The supportive seats offer plenty of legroom and headroom. Cargo space is also paradoxically large with plenty of room for luggage, groceries and other cargo. An available integrated tonneau cover keeps items secure and out of sight.

Bright Colors
For the 2021 model year, Nissan adds three colors to the palette of bright hues introduced with this relatively new model — Electric Blue Metallic, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat and Boulder Gray Pearl. Kicks can also be painted in three new two-tone options by adding a Super Black roof to the three new colors.

New Wheel Design
The top-level SV and SR trims of the 2021 Nissan Kicks get newly styled 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels fitted with al-season tires. Another welcome addition for the upcoming model year are rear disc brakes for Kicks SV and SR.

Power
Powering all trims of the 2021 Nissan Kicks is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission available is Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable unit. The Kicks is available exclusively with front-wheel drive — all-wheel drive is not an option.

Fuel Economy
What the engine of the 2021 Nissan Kicks doesn’t make in horsepower it makes up for with impressive fuel economy numbers. The Kicks has U.S. EPA fuel-economy ratings of 36 mpg highway / 31 mpg city and 33 mpg combined.

Safety
All trim levels of the 2021 Nissan Kicks now have Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard equipment. This suite of safety aids includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high-beam headlight assist and automatic rear braking.
