A few weeks ago Jaguar took the wraps off the updated 2021 Jaguar F-PACE, and today the legendary British brand introduces the performance pinnacle of this SUV line: the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR. The high-performance F-PACE SVR — which stands for Special Vehicle Racing — receives revised exterior styling, a luxurious new interior and improved performance for the 2021 model year.

Raising the Bar
“The original F-PACE SVR was incredibly characterful, well received by customers and has gone on to become the highest-selling Jaguar SV product ever,” said Michael van der Sande, managing director of Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations. “The new version builds on this success, by making numerous detailed improvements that combine to raise the bar in the high-performance SUV segment,” van der Sande noted.

Supercharged Power
Under the hood of the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR resides a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 550 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque that gets sent to the SUV’s standard all-wheel drive system. Horsepower remains unchanged from the previous version; however, the torque reflects a slight bump that improves acceleration. The updated SVR can sprint to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds — 3 tenths of a second faster than the outgoing model. Top speed has also increased to 178 mph.

Quicker Shifts
For the F-PACE SVR, Jaguar pairs the powerful V8 engine with a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. The transmission adapts to deliver power appropriate for multiple driving situations, and for 2021 Dynamic Mode has been tuned to provide a better driving experience. A new system called Dynamic Launch uses the driveline’s inertia to maintain power during gear changes, providing quicker acceleration with smoother shifts.

All-Wheel Drive Standard
Every 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR comes with Jaguar’s Active All-Wheel-Drive system with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics tuned to the SVR for added performance. The system can vary torque front to rear almost instantaneously to handle road conditions in real time.

Performance Improvements
“The move to Jaguar’s new Electrical Vehicle Architecture gave us the opportunity to revisit the calibration of every single component, so we took the chance to fine-tune the driving experience to make it feel even more focused and even more refined,” said Paul Barritt, the F-PACE SVR chief program engineer.

Styling Updates
The SVR differentiates from the rest of the F-PACE lineup with a more aggressive front end designed to improve airflow while reducing lift by 35 percent. Larger air intakes help keep the engine and brakes cool, further aided by the SVR’s unique hood vents.

Sporty Look
The sporty nature of the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR is further emphasized with larger wheel arches, SVR front fenders with functional air vents and Gloss Narvik Black 22-inch forged alloy wheels. Additional vents are situated behind the rear wheels; a quad exhaust completes the picture.

Improved Interior
Like the rest of the F-PACE lineup, the 2021 SVR benefits from a significantly improved interior. The cabin has a more modern styling with vents that sit at the top of the dash, providing crisp lines and giving the interior a wider impression. Designers employed materials such as open-pore carbon fiber and aluminum to give the F-PACE SVR a premium appearance. And Jaguar has forgone the rotary shifter for a new stylish drive selector embossed with SVR badging.

Big Screen
Mounted at the center of the dashboard is one of the most significant highlights of the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR: an all-new 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen display encased in magnesium alloy. This HD display is three times brighter and 48 percent larger than the previous display.

Driver View
Accompanying the center screen is a new 12.3-inch HD driver’s display that can be completely configured to show digital gauges, infotainment details or the navigation system in full screen. The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR also receives an all-new steering wheel with nicely integrated controls, zinc-alloy shift paddles and SVR badging.

Sports Seats
The new F-PACE SVR can be fitted with slimline sports seats trimmed in semi-aniline leather with an embossed SVR logo on the head restraint.

Electronic Vehicle Architecture
The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE SVR features a new version of Jaguar’s advanced Electronic Vehicle Architecture. The EVA 2.0 system uses dual-sim technology with two LTE modems to provide over-the-air software updates as well as power the newest version of the company’s infotainment system called Pivi Pro. The dual modems help eliminate coverage blackouts and allows the system to perform multiple streaming functions at once.

Pivi Pro
Employing a dedicated power source for instant startup, the Pivi Pro infotainment system is designed to be ready for use as the driver starts the vehicle. Pivi Pro offers a range of advanced features including the ability to simultaneously connect to two phones via Bluetooth — either of which can be answered while driving. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can be connected to Microsoft or Google calendars to not only keep schedules available, but automatically add addresses of appointments into the nav system.
