Approximately five years ago Jaguar joined the burgeoning cadre of luxury SUVs when it introduced the F-PACE. The F-PACE quickly became the brand’s best-selling model and now outsells all Jaguar passenger cars combined, confirming the clear demand for this distinctly Jaguar crossover. The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE receives a major refresh with updated styling inside and out, improved performance and a range of high-tech features.

Exterior Updates
The F-PACE gets a fresh face for 2021, highlighted by the ultra-slim LED quad headlights with signature LED daytime running lights that Jaguar refers to as “Double J Blade” lights. The new lights flank an updated grille that is both larger than before and now flush with the front of the sculpted hood. Redesigned air intakes give the F-PACE a more aggressive look, while the iconic Leaper has been integrated into the side vents.

Rear View
At the rear of the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE, a new tailgate incorporates narrower LED taillights that give the F-PACE a cleaner look as well as a wider stance. The new rear look gets underscored by exhaust outlets integrated into the new bumper design.

New Design Language
“The new F-PACE is dynamic and assertive with an elegant stance on the road — it represents a significant development of Jaguar design language,” said Jaguar Design Director Julian Thomson. “The heightened luxury and attention to detail inside the F-PACE with seamlessly integrated state-of-the-art technologies ensure both driver and passengers feel a real sense of occasion whenever they get in the vehicle,” Thomson noted.

Interior Enhancements
Although the exterior changes to the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace are certainly notable, the interior of the new version receives a complete makeover. One of the most significant highlights is an all-new 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen display encased in magnesium alloy mounted at the center of the dashboard. This HD display is three times brighter and 48 percent larger than the previous display.

Driver Display
Accompanying the center screen is a new available 12.3-inch HD driver’s display that can be completely configured by the driver to show digital gauges, infotainment details or the navigation system in full screen. The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE also receives an all-new steering wheel with nicely integrated controls.

Modern Look
Overall the cabin has a more modern style. Gone is the wide, curving dashboard that attempted to create the feeling of a cockpit. Instead vents now sit at the top of the dash to provide crisp lines and give the interior a wider look. Designers have employed materials such as open-pore wood veneer and aluminum to give the F-PACE a more premium appearance. And Jaguar has forgone the rotary shifter for a new stylish drive selector.

Additional Features
Other improvements for the 2021 Jaguar F-PACE include cabin air ionization with improved air filtration, as well as active road noise cancellation. Configurable ambient lighting is also available. The F-PACE also has new seats, featuring wider cushions, massage functions, and improved heating and cooling. All F-PACEs will have heated seats, keyless entry and a 14-speaker Meridian sound system as standard equipment. Jaguar will also offer the latest version of its wearable Activity Key, which can be used to lock, unlock and start the vehicle without needing to carry the key fob.

Electronic Vehicle Architecture
The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE also introduces a new version of advanced Electronic Vehicle Architecture. The EVA 2.0 system uses dual-sim technology with two LTE modems to provide over-the-air software updates as well as power the newest version of the company’s infotainment system called Pivi Pro. The dual modems help eliminate coverage blackouts, allowing the system to perform multiple streaming functions at once. And for those who wonder about such things, Pivi Pro does not stand for anything — it’s simply a name Jaguar chose.

Pivi Pro
Employing a dedicated power source for instant startup, the Pivi Pro infotainment system is designed to be ready for use as the driver starts the vehicle. Pivi Pro offers a range of advance features including the ability to simultaneously connect to two phones via Bluetooth, either of which can be answered while driving. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can be connected to Microsoft or Google calendars to not only keep schedules available, but automatically add addresses of appointments into the nav system.

Under the Hood
The 2021 Jaguar F-PACE will be available with three different engines for the U.S. consumer, all teamed with an 8-speed automatic transmission directing power to all four wheels. Engines include a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder unit making 246 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged 6-cylinder powerplant producing 335 horsepower, and the R Dynamic S400 will have the same engine bumped to 395 horsepower.

Mild Hybrid
Jaguar says the two 6-cylinder engines offered on the 2021 F-PACE will be built in-house. Both feature mild-hybrid technology employing a belt-integrated starter motor that harvests energy from slowing or braking and stores it in a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. This energy can provide additional power for acceleration. The top-level S400 will use the power to reach 60 mph in 5 seconds.
