2020 Nissan Sentra
The all-new Nissan Sentra debuted in Los Angeles the night before the official media preview for the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2020 Sentra has more expressive exterior styling, a new platform, a more refined interior and new connectivity technology. Already the best-selling Nissan model of all time in the U.S. market (with more than six million sold since it was introduced in 1982), the 2020 Sentra is scheduled to go on sale in late January 2020.

Exterior Design
The 2020 Nissan Sentra gets built on a new platform that enabled designers to improve the small car’s stance and proportions — the new model has a 2-inch-wider track and 2.2-inch-lower overall height, as well as a lower center of gravity. The new design brings Sentra in line with the other Nissan sedans — flagship Maxima, midsize Altima and compact Versa — all have had styling updates in the last two years.

V-Motion Grille
The new Sentra receives its own version of Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille, dropping much deeper through the bumper than the previous generation, flanked by narrow headlights that flow back into the front fenders. Sentra also has available LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, as well as available LED fog lights.

Floating Roof
At the rear, the 2020 Sentra’s roofline is lower and it has the floating design first seen on the Maxima. The rear shoulders are wider with more aggressive lines, and the new design gets finished with horizontal LED combination lights. Eight exterior colors are offered, as well as three 2-tone combinations: Super Black / Gun Metallic, Super Black / Aspen White TriCoat and Super Black / Monarch Orange Metallic.

Model Lineup
For 2020 the Sentra is offered in three trim levels: S, SV and SR, with two additional option packages. Sentra S includes 16-inch steel wheels with full covers, remote keyless entry with pushbutton start, and a center console with storage. Sentra SV adds 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 205/60R16 all-season tires; NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; an 8-inch color display with multi-touch control; a 6-speaker audio system; dual-zone auto climate control; intelligent cruise control and upgraded cloth interior.

Sentra SR
The sporty Sentra SR features 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 215/45R18 all-season tires; a dark chrome V-Motion grille; LED headlights, daytime running lights and fog lights; a sport cloth interior with orange stitching; a rear spoiler and lower bodyside sill extensions.

Sentra Interior
Inside, Nissan focuses on the details to create a Sentra interior that is more refined and luxurious, including the feel of the standard D-shaped steering wheel and smooth operation of dials and switches. Available options include quilted leather seats, heated front seats and intelligent around view monitor. Sentra receives Nissan’s NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats first offered in the Maxima. The instrument cluster features round analog gauges with a driver information screen in the center.

Under the Hood
The 2020 Sentra is powered by a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 149 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque — an increase of 25 horsepower and 20 lb-ft of torque over the previous generation’s 1.8-liter engine. Expected to offer improved fuel economy, the new engine is paired with the latest generation of Nissan’s Xtronic continuously-variable transmission.

Dynamic Performance
Nissan engineers aimed to improve handling, stability and ride comfort with a new independent rear suspension combined with a McPherson strut front suspension with twin-tube shock absorbers. Sentra also receives a new dual-pinion rack with electric power steering for improved steering feel.

Connectivity Technology
To help drivers stay connected safely, Sentra features a 4.2 inch digital multi-information display and a standard 7-inch color touchscreen with a Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a hands-free text messaging assistant, Siri Eyes Free and Google Assistant Voice Recognition. Sentra SV and SR offer an available 7-inch digital drivers display combined with a floating 8-inch multi-touch center display. Available NissanConnect features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Driver Assistance Technologies
Advanced safety and driver assistance technologies include standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 — a suite of six advanced driver-assist systems that includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist and rear automatic braking. The new Sentra also offers standard 10 airbags, rear door alert, intelligent forward collision warning, and intelligent driver alertness.
