Ford Explorer Hybrid
The Explorer Hybrid gets power from a 3.3-liter V6 engine teamed with an electric motor and a 10-speed modular hybrid transmission for a combined output of 318 horsepower. Ford is targeting a 500-mile range between fill-ups, which equates to about 26 miles per gallon. Actual fuel-economy figures will be released closer to the on-sale date later this year. The Hybrid also retains much of the capability found in the standard Explorer, including available 4-wheel drive and an impressive towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
