There’s no question that Mercedes buyers expect a certain level of luxury in their automobiles, and rarely are they disappointed. However, some reach for an even higher bar, and for those folks there’s the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet. Based on the S-Class Cabriolet, this 4-seat convertible ups the luxury as well as the exclusivity.

Low Numbers, Exclusive Colors
Just 300 of these beautiful convertibles will be built, and only 75 are slated to come to America. U.S. buyers will have a choice of three exclusive color combinations: Zircon Red with Porcelain / Black interior and a black soft-top; Cote d’Azur Blue with a Porcelain / Saddle Brown interior and a beige soft-top; or designo Diamond White with a Porcelain / Yacht Blue interior and a dark blue soft-top.

Maybach Touches
The Maybach S650 stands apart from a normal S-Class cabrio with a new front bumper, upgraded lower section and chrome highlights. The Maybach emblem adorns the fender and 20-inch Maybach forged wheels complete the look. Upon opening a door occupants will see the Maybach logo projected onto the ground, acting as entrance lighting.

Elegant Details
Inside, passengers are ensconced in soft leather seats crafted with perforations that suggest the look of a waterfall. Fine wood veneer provides a yachtlike ambience, inspired by the Mercedes-Benz Style “Arrow 460-Granturismo” yacht. Also included are deep-pile floor mats and chrome-plated “1 of 300” lettering on the cupholder cover.

Drop-Top Power
Of course, the Maybach needs a powerplant befitting this luxury convertible, and Mercedes delivers with a 6.0-liter Biturbo V12 engine putting out 621 horsepower and a massive 738 lb-ft of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission.

Additional Amenities
Each Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet comes with a car cover made of high-quality fabric that matches the soft-top color, complete with diamond quilting and an embroidered Maybach emblem. A custom set of luggage is also included, comprised of two large travel bags and two “lifestyle” bags. The bags are made from leather that matches the car’s interior trim, and are designed to strap together and fit nicely in the trunk.

Welcome Pack
In addition to the car cover and luggage, buyers receive a special welcome pack that includes a key ring made of the same Nappa leather used for the S650’s interior, with a Maybach emblem and “1 of 300” lettering, as well as a certificate signed by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz cars.
