2019 Infiniti QX50
In Los Angeles Infiniti debuted the 2019 QX50 midsize luxury crossover, which carries a new interpretation of Infiniti’s Powerful Elegance design language and remains true to the designs of the QX50 Concept and QX Sport Inspiration. The new design features a strong shoulder line that flows from the headlights, along the bottom of the clamshell hood and along the full length of the car, anchored by the signature Infiniti double-arch grille up front.

Sculpted Design
Along with sculpted fenders and sides, the QX50’s aerodynamic design features vents in the bumpers and fenders to efficiently manage air. The LED headlights represent the human eye with the signature lights as eyebrows. At the rear, the LED taillights match the headlight shape and flow into the rear fenders, connected in the center by a chrome strip. The D-pillar includes the signature Infiniti crescent-cut shape that extends the flow of the roof, while the front edge of the pillar arcs forward to create a sense of motion.

VC-Turbo Engine
The 2019 Infiniti QX50 is powered by the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, which is the first production-ready engine that adjusts compression ratio to optimize both power and efficiency. Combined with a continuously variable transmission, the VC-Turbo is rated at 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, and is expected to be rated at 27 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 26 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

New Platform
Based on a new front-engine, front-wheel-drive platform, the 2019 QX50 offers more interior space and more efficient packaging than the previous generation, which was based on a rear-wheel-drive platform. The QX50 will be available with Infiniti Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

Driver-Focused Interior
Inside, the QX50 is tailored with choice materials, colors and manufacturing techniques to create an upscale, almost handcrafted feel. The driver-focused interior has an asymmetrical design for the center stack and console, making them more open to the driver as well as separating the front-seat passenger from the driver’s position. The seats, door panels and dashboard feature a laser-cut hole pattern that follows the contours of the interior design; the seats incorporate contrast-color stitching and leather piping. A sport steering wheel and wheel-mounted paddle shifters add to the performance-oriented nature of the QX50.

ProPILOT Assist Technology
Performing exactly what its name implies, Infiniti’s ProPILOT Assist package of autonomous drive technologies will help the driver in certain situations by employing Direct Adaptive Steering and Intelligent Cruise Control. ProPILOT Assist will help the driver control acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway travel. Additional technologies include Distance Control Assist; Back-up Collision Intervention; Predictive Forward Collision Warning; Blind Spot Warning and Intervention; Lane Departure Warning and Prevention; and Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection.
