With the first 10 months of the year in the books, the auto industry is continuing to see positive momentum. With strong truck sales, October saw an increase of almost 14 percent compared to a year ago, keeping the industry on pace to surpass 18 million units this year — for the first time in 10 years. Overall sales are up almost 6.0 percent over the first ten months of 2014. There were a few standout brands in September — Jeep continues strong with a 33.3 percent increase compared to October 2014, and other strong performers included Mazda, Subaru, Ford and Chevrolet. General Motors continues to lead all other manufacturers in the U.S. with a 17.7 percent market share, followed by Ford Motor Company, Toyota Motor Sales and Chrysler/FCA group, all of which showed healthy year-over-year gains.
